Airport
Valencia Airport (VLC), eight kilometres west of the city according to Aena, and about 12 km by road to Plaça de la Reina. Metro lines 3 and 5 run from the terminal. Source
Tourist tax
None found in force. The Valencian tourist-stay tax of Ley 7/2022 was repealed by Decreto-ley 12/2023 before it came into force. No official 2026 statement confirming the absence was found. Source
Tourist lets
Ley 15/2018, art. 65, as amended by Decreto-ley 9/2024: a tourist dwelling is a whole property let for 10 days or less to the same tenant, never by rooms, and a let of 11 days or more is not one. Every advert must show its exact location and its Valencian tourism register number. Source

The national registration procedure was largely annulled in May 2026, regional registers still apply (Catalan NIRTC, Valencian tourism register, Andalusian RTA), and whether a national number must still appear on a listing is unsettled as of September 2026. Source

Beyond 10 days a let is no longer a tourist dwelling: a month is a seasonal lease under article 3.2 of the lease law, with a deposit of two months' rent. Source

Ciutat Vella

The old town: the cathedral, the Silk Exchange, the Central Market and the old Turia gardens on foot. It suits first-time visitors and short stays.

Car and parking

The northern part is the camera-controlled APR: ask the hotel to register the plate before arrival, or use a car park with plate reading. Blue and orange ORA zones apply, and orange is expensive for visitors and closed to them outside paid hours.

Russafa

A lively district south of the centre, around its covered market, known for food and nightlife. It suits longer stays and guests who want restaurants on the doorstep, less so light sleepers.

Cabanyal and Malva-rosa

The old fishermen's quarter of tiled houses next to the city beach and its promenade. It suits beach stays and guests who want the sea every day.

The City of Arts and Sciences, the Oceanogràfic and modern buildings, halfway between the old town and the port. It suits families and visitors who come for the museums.

Does Valencia have a tourist tax?

None was found in force. The Valencian tax on tourist stays, created in 2022, was repealed in November 2023 before it came into force. No official statement that no tax applies in 2026 was found; no newer tax was found either.

Can a rental car drive into Valencia's old town?

Only into the northern part, Ciutat Vella Nord, if the plate is registered: hotels inside the zone register guests' cars, and car parks with plate reading register the cars they take in. An unjustified entry is fined EUR 60.

Which Valencia area suits a beach stay?

Cabanyal and Malva-rosa, the old fishermen's quarter next to the city beach and promenade, or Patacona just north of the city beaches for something quieter.

How long can a tourist let last in Valencia?

A tourist dwelling in the Valencian region is let for 10 days or less, counted continuously to the same tenant. Longer stays are seasonal leases under the national lease law.
