Cookie policy

Quub sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Visits are counted with Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that sets no cookies and stores no personal data.

What Umami records

Umami runs on a server in Germany operated for Quub. It records the page, the referrer, the browser type, the country and the screen size of a visit, and a few named events: opening a destination or a monthly guide, and clicking a button to a booking site. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint, and does not store IP addresses. Because no personal data is involved, EU rules do not require consent for it.

Clicks to booking sites

When you click a button to a booking site, the Quub server writes one line to a log: the time, the partner, the destination and area, the page you clicked from, and a one-way hash of your browser's user agent string. No IP address is stored.

Booking sites set their own cookies

Once you arrive on Vrbo, Expedia, Agoda or a site reached through Stay22, that site sets its own cookies, including the affiliate cookie that tells it Quub sent you. Their own cookie notices apply there.
