Where to stay around dalaman

Fethiye is the harbour town, with a marina below wooded hills. Çalış is the long beach with a promenade north of the town, about 8 km from the harbour by road. Ölüdeniz, about 15 km south of Fethiye, has the lagoon and a long beach below the mountains, with Hisarönü on the road between the two.

Göcek is a marina village on the bay north-west of Fethiye and the closest base to the airport, about 25 km by road. Dalyan is a river town facing the rock tombs of Kaunos, with İztuzu beach at the river mouth, about 31 km from the airport through Ortaca.

The rental car offices at Dalaman airport are on the arrivals floor. The D400 from Dalaman to Fethiye passes through the Göcek tunnel, which a private operator runs and tolls. Local papers reported 75 TL for a car in 2026, in each direction; the operator's own tariff was not found, so the amount is unverified as of September 2026. Check at the booth how to pay.

In Fethiye, the metropolitan municipality market car park charges 60 TL for the first hour, 100 TL up to two hours and 50 TL for each hour after that, with a monthly subscription at 4,250 TL. The car park at the intercity bus terminal is free for 25 minutes, then 50 TL up to an hour. The municipality transport company also runs two car parks in Göcek but publishes no prices for them.

The Ölüdeniz lagoon is the Ölüdeniz-Kıdrak nature park. Its 2026 tariff charges 255 TL for a car, but foreign visitors pay a per-person fee instead, set for each park at five to ten times the 85 TL domestic ticket, and no car fee.

Until 31 October 2026 an order of the Muğla governor closes the listed forests to entry and bans stopping or picnicking beside them. The list covers Kayaköy and Ölüdeniz, Babadağ, Butterfly Valley, Göcek and the Dalaman to Göcek forests, and Köyceğiz and Dalyan, so drive past them without stopping. Since February 2026 a traffic fine on a rental car can be issued to the renter. The accommodation tax is national: 1% of the room price before VAT from 1 May to 31 December 2026, 2% before that, and it appears on the invoice as its own line. If a tour operator or booking site sold the room without it, the hotel invoices the tax to the guest after the stay.

Villas and flats let to holidaymakers for up to 100 days need a permit from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The law counts any unit registered as a home, so a villa needs one as much as a flat. The permit number belongs in the listing, together with whether parking comes with the property, and a plaque marked Turizm Amaçlı Konut belongs at the entrance.

Hotels, villas and flats record each guest's passport and report it to the police at once, and may not house a guest without an identity document.

For an early flight, Göcek or Dalyan cut the airport run to about 25 or 31 km by road. For Ölüdeniz, about 68 km from the airport, book a stay with parking and budget for the park fee on lagoon days. The forest ban runs to 31 October 2026, so autumn walks to Kayaköy or Butterfly Valley need a check of the current order first.

The 1% tax rate covers stays up to 31 December 2026; after that the 2% in the law applies again unless a new decision extends the cut.
