Where to stay in Treviso
Treviso is small enough to walk, so the choice of area is mostly about the car. The traffic-zone rules the comune publishes, version 4 from 2017, include a pass for guests of properties in the zone.

How the areas differ

The Centro storico is the walled town: Piazza dei Signori, the brick Palazzo dei Trecento and its clock tower, the arcaded shopping streets and the canals of the Buranelli. The traffic zone covers it.
On the western side, Santi Quaranta runs from its gate down to via Lungo Sile. To the south, the railway and bus stations sit south of Porta Altinia, with via Roma leading up to the Sile at Ponte San Martino.
East of the walls, Fiera is a quarter outside the traffic zone. West, San Giuseppe lies between the centre and Canova airport, for an early flight.
Staying with a rental car

Treviso runs one traffic zone, over the walled centre. The rules below come from the disciplinare the comune publishes, version 4 from 2017; whether a later version changes them is unverified as of September 2026. A pass or a sticker is needed to drive in it, applied for through the Polizia Locale portal, and the plates of permitted vehicles go on a white list that the cameras check. Residents hold passes valid 00:00 to 24:00 with 20 minutes of parking; owners of property and businesses hold fixed windows such as 08:00 to 10:00.
Guests have their own line in the table. Clients of hotels and other accommodation inside the zone get a pass for the length of the stay, access at any hour and the same 20 minutes of parking. They are also one of seven categories allowed to declare the transit within five days of the first entry rather than before it, which covers an unplanned arrival. The property is the right place to start.
Parking changed on 1 January 2026. The centre is split into three zones: A at EUR 2.50 an hour and EUR 15.00 a day, B at EUR 2.00 and EUR 12.00, C at EUR 1.30 and EUR 9.00, with the zone C hourly rate rising to EUR 1.50 on 1 January 2027 and all tariffs indexed every two years. Charging runs 08:00 to 13:00 and 14:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and 14:30 to 20:00 on Sundays and holidays: a Sunday afternoon is charged and a Sunday morning is not.
The 2026 tariff list names four car parks. Cantarane, inside the walls on the western side, costs EUR 2.00 an hour and EUR 12.00 a day. The Cittadella Istituzioni is the cheapest for a long stop at EUR 1.30 an hour, EUR 4.00 a day and EUR 10.00 a week, open 08:00 to 20:00 on weekdays. Park Porta Appiani, the Valigione, charges EUR 1.30 an hour on the same hours. Miani Park is open and free until the comune switches it to paid during 2026. GetCar’s car rental page for Treviso covers the hire side of the trip.
Veneto also imposes structural traffic limits from 1 October to 30 April, Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 18:30, with the vehicle classes set by the comune’s mayoral ordinance.
What the tourist tax and registration rules mean for a guest
Treviso charges the imposta di soggiorno by the classification of the property. The rates below are the last ones the comune publishes: the 2024 tariffs, confirmed for 2025. A confirmation for 2026 is unverified as of September 2026. Hotels, residenze turistico-alberghiere and campsites pay EUR 2.00 a night per person at one and two stars, EUR 2.50 at three, EUR 3.00 at four and EUR 4.00 at five, superior grades included. Agriturismi run from EUR 2.00 at one and two sunflowers to EUR 4.00 at five. Complementary accommodation, bed and breakfasts included, runs from EUR 2.00 at two winged lions to EUR 4.00 at five. A tourist let pays EUR 4.00.
The tax is charged for at most six consecutive nights per person, and a guest who moves from one Treviso property to another inside the same run of nights can hand the second operator a declaration so the six are counted once. Children up to their sixteenth year pay nothing, and so do people with a certified non-self-sufficient disability, coach drivers and guides with groups of at least 20, police, fire and civil-protection staff called to a notable event, and carers of patients at a local health facility.
Every licensed stay in Italy, hotel or short-let flat, has a national identification code (CIN) shown outside the building and in every listing. Italian law lets a host accept only guests with an identity document or passport, and the host registers each one with the police within 24 hours. A 2024 Interior Ministry circular, upheld by the Council of State in November 2025, requires the host to identify guests in person or by a video link at the door.
When to book what
A weekend in the centre needs a plan for Sunday afternoon, when the bays go back to being charged at 14:30.
From October to April the regional traffic limits apply on weekday daytimes, so check the Euro class on the rental agreement for a winter trip.
For a month or longer, the lease type matters more than the date. Up to 30 days a flat is a short let with a CIN; beyond 30 days it is a lease that must be registered with the Agenzia delle Entrate. Compare and book on this page once the dates are fixed.
Which area for which trip

A first visit on foot: the Centro storico, with the plate given to the property.
A base on the western side, near the Sile: Santi Quaranta.
An early train or bus, or a short business stay: the station and via Roma.
A stay that uses the car every day, outside the traffic zone: Fiera.
An early flight from Canova: San Giuseppe and the airport road.
Questions
Does a Treviso hotel inside the walls arrange ZTL access?
The ZTL rules the comune publishes, version 4 from 2017, list clients of hotels and other accommodation in the zone as a pass category, valid for the length of the stay, and allow the entry to be declared up to five days afterwards. A later version is unverified as of September 2026, so ask the property to put the plate on the list.
How long can a car stop inside the Treviso ZTL?
Twenty minutes for most pass categories, including guests of accommodation in the zone. Longer stops belong in a paid bay or a car park outside the walls.
Is parking charged on Sundays in Treviso?
Yes, in the afternoon. Zones A, B and C and the Cantarane car park are charged from 14:30 to 20:00 on Sundays and holidays, and 08:00 to 13:00 plus 14:30 to 20:00 on weekdays.
Which Treviso car park is cheapest for a long stop?
The Cittadella Istituzioni, at EUR 1.30 an hour, EUR 4.00 a day, EUR 10.00 a week and EUR 20.00 a month, open 08:00 to 20:00 on weekdays.
How much tourist tax does a family pay in a Treviso flat?
At the last rates the comune publishes, confirmed for 2025 (2026 unverified as of September 2026), EUR 4.00 per person per night in a tourist let, or EUR 2.00 to EUR 4.00 in complementary accommodation by its classification, for each guest past their sixteenth year and for at most six consecutive nights.
