A month in Pescara
A month in Pescara is cheap on tourist tax and awkward on parking. The tax stops after seven nights; the car needs a subscription or a zone outside the gates.

What a month means legally here
Italian law calls a home let for up to 30 days a short let, a locazione breve. It carries the national identification code, the CIN, outside the building and in every listing, and the host registers each guest with the police within 24 hours.
A lease of a home for more than 30 days in the year must be registered with the Agenzia delle Entrate within 30 days of signing, and a lease that should be registered and is not is void. A holiday month is a tourist let under the Civil Code and has to be in writing. A transitory lease, up to 18 months, is for a documented need such as work or study, uses a standard form, and becomes an ordinary long lease if those conditions are not met.
The tourist tax applies for at most 7 consecutive nights, so a month in a holiday flat or a three-star hotel costs EUR 14 per person and a month in a one-star hotel EUR 7. Guests who have turned seventy pay nothing. Whether short lets under the national regime are taxed here is unverified as of September 2026: the comune's rate table names holiday houses and other unclassified accommodation but not locazioni brevi.
The areas that suit a month

Riviera Nord and the strip around Pescara Centrale are the two that work with a car for a month. Both sit outside the limited-traffic zones, both have large paid areas, and both are walkable into the centre. The centre itself and Pescara Vecchia are closed to unauthorised cars for most or all of the day.
The parking product a visitor can buy is the all-zones subscription from Pescara Multiservice at EUR 60.00 a month, valid in every paid area except Piazza Primo Maggio. The EUR 360.00 annual rate and the EUR 15.00 reduced monthly rates are reserved to residents, and the EUR 15.00 student rate to university students, so none of them applies to a visitor. Electric vehicles pay half on the monthly subscription.
Where the host runs an accommodation business, Piazza Primo Maggio has a separate subscription for accommodation businesses at EUR 120.00 a month, capped at fifteen places, so it is worth asking whether the property holds one.
The paperwork
Deposit: for a home let as a dwelling the deposit may not exceed three months' rent under article 11 of Law 392/1978. Whether that cap binds a holiday let governed by the Civil Code is unverified as of September 2026, so agree the deposit in writing.
Every guest shows an identity document or passport at check-in and the host registers them with the police. A landlord who houses a non-EU national notifies the police within 48 hours with the passport details.
EU citizens staying more than three months register with the comune's registry office, with proof of work, study, or sufficient means and health cover. Visitors from outside the EU, including those from the United Kingdom and the United States, may stay 90 days in any 180 across the Schengen area, and the EU Entry/Exit System has registered their short stays since 10 April 2026.
What platforms call long stays
Vrbo's monthly-stays page, as archived in June 2026, describes stays of 28 nights or more and says selected homes offer a discount for them. Agoda lets partners offer long-stay promotions on bookings of more than 28 days and permits stays of up to 90 days.
The platform label does not settle the legal status. Up to 30 days, check the CIN on the listing. Beyond 30 days, ask for a written lease and its registration with the Agenzia delle Entrate. Compare and book on this page once that is clear.
Pitfalls
A listing with no CIN.
A lease of more than 30 days that is never registered: it is void.
Taking a flat inside ZTL 1 or in Pescara Vecchia with a car. The gates allow half an hour for luggage and nothing else.
Assuming the EUR 15.00 monthly parking rate applies. It is for residents and students; a visitor buys the EUR 60.00 all-zones pass.
A deposit above three months' rent on a lease of a home, and miscounting Schengen days.
