A month in Lamezia Terme

A month in Lamezia Terme carries no tourist tax, because the comune levies none as of October 2026. The questions are the lease paperwork and where the car goes.

What a month means legally here

Italian law calls a home let for up to 30 days a short let, a locazione breve. It carries the national identification code, the CIN, outside the building and in every listing, Calabria's regional code stays in use alongside it, and the host registers each guest with the police within 24 hours.

A lease of a home for more than 30 days in the year must be registered with the Agenzia delle Entrate within 30 days of signing, and a lease that should be registered and is not is void. A holiday month is a tourist let under the Civil Code and has to be in writing. A transitory lease, up to 18 months, is for a documented need such as work or study, uses a standard form, and becomes an ordinary long lease if those conditions are not met.

There is no tourist tax to count in the comune of Lamezia Terme as of October 2026. A month on the coast is different: in Falerna the tax is capped at 7 consecutive nights and charged only between 1 April and 30 September, so a month there costs at most EUR 7 per person in a short-let flat or EUR 10.50 in a hotel, and nothing outside those dates.

The areas that suit a month

Nicastro and Sambiase suit a month in the town, about 2.6 km apart by road, with Corso Numistrano in Nicastro as the main street. Sant'Eufemia holds the airport and the station. On the coast, Falerna Marina suits a month too, and its tourist tax stops after 7 nights.

Parking for a month is the open question. Whether the comune runs paid bays, a limited-traffic zone or a monthly permit is unverified as of October 2026, and Lamezia Multiservizi, which runs the buses, publishes no parking tariffs. Ask the host where the car goes before agreeing a month.

The airport car parks publish their prices, and at EUR 8.00 a day beyond the seventh they are not a month-long answer. No official source read for this page offers a monthly parking subscription in this comune.

The paperwork

Deposit: for a home let as a dwelling the deposit may not exceed three months' rent under article 11 of Law 392/1978. Whether that cap binds a holiday let governed by the Civil Code is unverified as of September 2026, so agree the deposit in writing.

Every guest shows an identity document or passport at check-in and the host registers them with the police. A landlord who houses a non-EU national notifies the police within 48 hours with the passport details.

EU citizens staying more than three months register with the comune's registry office, with proof of work, study, or sufficient means and health cover. Visitors from outside the EU, including those from the United Kingdom and the United States, may stay 90 days in any 180 across the Schengen area, and the EU Entry/Exit System has registered their short stays since 10 April 2026.

What platforms call long stays

Vrbo's monthly-stays page, as archived in June 2026, describes stays of 28 nights or more and says selected homes offer a discount for them. Agoda lets partners offer long-stay promotions on bookings of more than 28 days and permits stays of up to 90 days.

The platform label does not settle the legal status. Up to 30 days, check the CIN on the listing. Beyond 30 days, ask for a written lease and its registration with the Agenzia delle Entrate. Compare and book on this page once that is clear.

Pitfalls

A listing with no CIN, or without Calabria's regional code beside it.

A lease of more than 30 days that is never registered: it is void.

Assuming the coast is tax-free because Lamezia Terme is. Falerna and Gizzeria are separate comuni and charge their own tax.

Taking a month without settling where the car goes. Whether the comune runs paid bays or sells a monthly permit is unverified as of October 2026.

A deposit above three months' rent on a lease of a home, and miscounting Schengen days.

Questions

Is a month in Lamezia Terme a short let or a lease?

Up to 30 days a whole flat is a short let with a CIN. Beyond 30 days in a year it is a lease that must be registered with the Agenzia delle Entrate within 30 days.

How much tourist tax is due on a month in Lamezia Terme?

None as of October 2026. The comune levies no imposta di soggiorno. A month at Falerna Marina costs at most EUR 7 per person in a short-let flat, and nothing outside 1 April to 30 September.

Can a visitor buy monthly parking in Lamezia Terme?

None was found. Neither the comune nor Lamezia Multiservizi publishes a monthly parking product, and the comune's parking pages return an error, so the position is unverified as of October 2026. Ask the host whether the property has its own space.

Which Lamezia Terme areas suit a month?

Nicastro and Sambiase in the town, and Falerna Marina on the coast. Sant'Eufemia holds the airport and the station, which suits a night before a flight more than a month.
