Airport
Mohammed V (CMN), 27 km south-west of downtown in Nouaceur; the airport authority advises 30 to 50 minutes by road. Source

City centre

The centre around United Nations Square, with the art deco buildings the national tourist office points to, the old medina close by and the Hassan II Mosque on the water about 3 km away. It suits a first visit, the trains and the trams, and a stay without much driving.

Car and parking

Street meters cost 2 DH an hour, with a 30 DH clamp fine. Closed car parks at Place Mohammed V charge 5 DH for the first hour and 40 DH for 12 to 24 hours; the one on Boulevard Mohammed V charges 30 DH for 12 to 24 hours.

Maârif

A district that grew from 1914 as a European suburb and that its council now describes as a hub of commerce and services next to the business centre, with homes, workshops and offices. It suits shopping, restaurants and a residential month.

Car and parking

Maârif is one of the metered districts, at 2 DH an hour, and part of the regulated zone run by Casa Baia. Ask whether a flat comes with a space.

Anfa

The district that carries the ancient name of Casablanca, west of the centre, with residential quarters such as Racine and Anfa Supérieur and the beach at Aïn Diab within its limits. It suits a quieter stay between the centre and the sea.

Car and parking

The commune listed Anfa among its metered districts at 2 DH an hour, and Bourgogne is in Casa Baia's regulated extension. Away from the meters, ask the host about parking.

Aïn Diab Corniche

The seafront at Aïn Diab, with private beach complexes, water parks, cafés, restaurants and clubs, the Lalla Meryem and Aïn Diab beaches and the island shrine of Sidi Abderrahman. It suits a beach stay and the city's nightlife.

Casa Baia's closed car park La Corniche charges 5 DH for the first hour and 30 DH for 12 to 24 hours. Tram T2 ends at Aïn Diab Plage, so the car can stay parked for trips to the centre.
