Antalya airport serves the old town, two city beaches and resorts from Kemer, 57 km away, to Manavgat, next to Side, 65 km away. With a rental car, check access first: under 2024 decisions Kaleiçi admits only permitted vehicles and none after 14:00, and ancient Side is closed to cars.

Kaleiçi

The walled old town above the old harbour, entered through Hadrian's Gate, built after the emperor's visit in 130 AD. Its hotels sit in the old lanes, where the governorship has taken up complaints about late-night noise from entertainment venues, so it suits a short stay on foot more than a quiet month.

Car and parking

Under decisions the governorship announced in May 2024, vehicles need an entry permit registered by plate with the metropolitan municipality, none may enter or leave after 14:00, and parking outside the designated areas is not allowed; whether they apply unchanged in 2026 was not verified. Ask the hotel where its guests leave the car before booking.

Konyaaltı

The long pebble beach west of the city, below the cliffs and facing the Bey Mountains, with apartment blocks behind the promenade. It suits a beach stay inside the city and a month in an apartment.

Car and parking

Parking at the beach park on Konyaaltı beach has had no free first hour since 24 March 2025, under a decision of the metropolitan transport board that also ended free driving through the park. Current fees were not found online.

Lara

The beach east of the city and, with Kaleiçi, the closest of these areas to the airport by road. It suits a beach hotel stay with a short airport run.

Car and parking

No public parking tariff was found for the Lara beach road, so parking is a question for the hotel. For a flat, the listing must say whether parking comes with it.

Belek

A resort area of hotel complexes on the coast east of Antalya, in Serik district, which the airports authority puts 30 km from the airport. It suits a resort hotel stay, with the car kept for day trips.

Car and parking

No municipal parking source was found for Belek, so ask the hotel about parking. No motorway or bridge toll applies anywhere in Antalya province.

Kemer

A marina town under the mountains south-west of Antalya, 57 km from the airport, on the D400 coast road that continues towards Kaş. It suits a beach or harbour stay with drives along the coast.

Car and parking

The D400 from Antalya, 44 km from the city centre to Kemer, runs through a series of tunnels and has no toll. No municipal parking tariff for Kemer was found, so ask the hotel or host.

Side

The ancient city on its peninsula, with the Temple of Apollo on the shore, next to Manavgat, which the airports authority puts 65 km from the airport. It suits a beach stay with the ruins on foot.

Car and parking

The entrance to ancient Side has been closed to all vehicles since a transport board decision of 25 December 2019. The Manavgat municipality sends drivers to the car park at the Side bus station, from where visitors walk the pedestrian road or take the municipal shuttle.

Can you drive into Kaleiçi?

Only in a vehicle with an entry permit. In May 2024 the Antalya Governorship decided that permitted vehicles are registered by plate, that no vehicle may enter or leave the old town after 14:00 and that no car may park outside the designated areas. Ask the hotel how its guests park before arriving.

Is there a tourist tax in Antalya?

There is no city tax. The national accommodation tax is 1% of the room price before VAT from 1 May to 31 December 2026, and 2% before that; it appears as its own line on the invoice.

How far are the resorts from Antalya airport?

The state airports authority gives 13 km to the city centre, 30 km to Serik, the district of Belek, 57 km to Kemer and 65 km to Manavgat, next to Side.

Where do you park for ancient Side?

Outside it. A transport board decision of December 2019 closed the entrance to all vehicles, and the Manavgat municipality sends drivers to the car park at the Side bus station, with a shuttle and a pedestrian road to the ruins.
