A month in Belgrade
Belgrade's tourist tax exempts guests who stay more than 30 days in a row in the same accommodation. The 24 hour police registration and the 90 day limit apply to a month as they do to a weekend.

What a month means legally
Serbia is outside the EU and the Schengen area. EU, UK and US passports enter without a visa for up to 90 days in a period of six months from the first entry, and an EU citizen may travel on an ID card. A month in Belgrade uses Serbian days only, not Schengen days. Staying beyond 90 days needs a different permission, whose rules this guide did not check.
Whatever the length of the stay, a foreigner's address must be registered with the police. The host who rents for payment does it within 24 hours of the start of the stay. A foreigner who stays with a friend or relative is registered by that person within 24 hours of arrival, at the police station for the address.
The tax on a month
The City of Belgrade decision charges RSD 160 per person for every day in a hospitality accommodation, a rate in force since 1 January 2020. Among the exemptions, people who stay in the accommodation for more than 30 days in a row pay nothing; children under 7 are exempt and ages 7 to 15 pay half. The decision does not say whether a host applies the exemption from the first night of a 31 night booking or only after the 30th, so ask the host how the bill shows it.
Private hosts registered for domaća radinost, rooms and flats let by individuals, pay the city a yearly lump sum instead of collecting the tax per night. Amendments to the tax decision are on the City Assembly agenda for 6 October 2026, and the RSD 240 figure reported in the press is unverified as of September 2026.
Registration and paperwork

Ask the host for confirmation that the registration is done. Some host guides call that confirmation the white card. The police Department for Foreigners in Belgrade is at Omladinskih brigada 1, for questions on status and longer stays.
The host must also issue a bill that shows the tourist tax as a separate line. A listing that cannot say how it registers foreign guests is worth questioning before a deposit is paid.
The areas and the parking that suit a month
Street zones cannot hold a car for a month: the longest limit is three hours in the green zone, and the RSD 500 monthly zone pass is for residents. The city garages sell monthly passes to anyone: Obilićev venac at RSD 20,000 for round the clock parking, Zeleni venac at RSD 19,000, Pinki in Zemun at RSD 16,000, and the Novi Beograd car park at RSD 6,500 for 07:00 to 21:00.
New Belgrade suits a month with a car, with that car park on Bulevar Mihajla Pupina and the airport about 15 km away. Vračar suits a month a short ride from the centre, with the Slavija car parks at RSD 2,000 a day. Zemun suits a month by the Danube, with the Pinki garage and city public transport, which the July 2026 Zemun parking notice describes as free.
What the platforms call a long stay
Airbnb calls 28 nights or more a monthly stay. It charges the first month up front and releases it to the host 24 hours after check-in, then charges each later month 10 days before it starts, and a long-term cancellation policy with about 30 days' notice applies. How other platforms label long stays in Belgrade was not verified as of September 2026.
Pitfalls
Counting a month in Belgrade as Schengen time. Serbia counts its own 90 days in six months.
Assuming the tax stops by itself after 30 nights. Ask the host how the exemption shows on the bill.
Leaving a car on a zoned street for days. During charging hours the zones allow at most three hours, then a RSD 3,000 daily ticket follows.
Taking a car hired in Serbia into Kosovo, Albania or Bulgaria. Many Serbian rental firms forbid it.
