A month in Batumi

No reputable source on monthly rents, deposits or utilities in Batumi was found, so this guide gives no figures. The fixed costs are these. There is no tourist tax. Insurance for the whole stay is mandatory, with a minimum cover of 30,000 GEL according to UK travel advice.

For the car, the city's tourist information centre lists a 30-day parking period at 10 GEL, paid with the plate number at banks, online, at pay boxes or at meters. The city's rules require payment at the start of parking, and the centre warns that cars parked against the rules are towed.

On Airbnb, 28 nights or more is a monthly stay: the first month is paid up front and released to the host 24 hours after check-in, and later months are charged 10 days before each period at the price fixed at booking.

Old Batumi and the Boulevard suit a month on foot: the Piazza, the promenade and the beach are within a kilometre of each other, and the car can stay parked. The New Boulevard suits a month in an apartment tower by the sea, about 6 km from the airport.

Makhinjauri and Green Cape suit a quieter month north of the city, with the botanical garden nearby and the Piazza about 7 to 8 km away. Kobuleti suits a month in a smaller resort town, about 27 km from the Piazza by road, and Gonio a month by the beaches near the border. This ranking is editorial.

Batumi's parking rules cover more than the centre: Makhinjauri and Kvariati joined the city in 2011, and Gonio sits in the same Gonio-Kvariati district. Pay at the start of parking, keep off crossings, marked bike lanes and bus stops, and compare the period passes with the daily fee: the tourist information centre lists 10 GEL for 30 days against 1 GEL a day.

Kobuleti is a separate municipality, and its parking rules could not be confirmed, so a month there needs a clear answer from the host about where the car stays. For the days the car stays put, bus no. 10 links the airport with town.

Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany may enter and stay without a visa for one full year, and UK travel advice says the same for British visitors. Other nationalities should check the ministry's consular portal. A month sits well inside that year.

Work is the rule to watch. According to UK travel advice, since 1 March 2026 a foreign national who wants to work in Georgia, including remote work or running a business, needs a work permit, issued for one year for a specific job and employer. Anyone in Georgia for more than 183 days who does paid work is liable for income tax and must tell the Revenue Service.

Whether a visitor inside the visa-free year must register an address was not found either way.

Airbnb calls a reservation of 28 nights or more a monthly stay and applies a long-term cancellation policy to it, and its help page describes a 30-day notice for changes. How other platforms name long stays was not checked for this guide.
