About Ankara

Esenboğa Airport lies 28 km from Ankara, and every area below sits 27 to 34 km from it by road. With a car, the deciding cost is parking: the city council set a higher 2026 street tariff for Kızılay's Necatibey Caddesi, Ulus and the castle quarter.

Kızılay

Kızılay Square, in the Çankaya district, has buses, taxis and a metro entrance on the square, and the Ankara Metro opened between Kızılay and Batıkent in 1997. It suits a short stay that uses the metro more than the car.

Car and parking

Necatibey Caddesi is one of three street areas on the higher 2026 tariff: 15 minutes free, TRY 150 up to 2 hours, TRY 200 up to 8 hours and TRY 250 beyond. Ask the hotel or host where the car can stay overnight.

Ulus

Ulus Square, in the Altındağ district north of Kızılay, has the equestrian statue on its pedestal and office blocks around a wide paved square. It is the closest of these areas to the airport by road and suits a short stay near the castle.

Car and parking

The Ulus Rüzgârlı area is on the same higher 2026 street tariff as Necatibey Caddesi, up to TRY 250 for more than 8 hours. A BELTAŞ closed car park costs TRY 250 for 8 to 24 hours.

Car and parking

The Kale Tarihi Kent Bölgesi, the castle historic quarter, is one of the three street areas on the higher 2026 tariff. Buses and cars park on open ground below the castle walls, but no operator or fee for it was found, so settle parking with the hotel first.

Car and parking

Tunalı Hilmi Caddesi is not one of the three higher-tariff street areas, but cars park along the kerb and the street rate for other areas could not be read with certainty. Look for a flat whose listing states parking.

Car and parking

No parking source specific to the area was found. The BELTAŞ municipal car parks charge TRY 100 for the first hour and up to TRY 250 for 8 to 24 hours in 2026, so a hotel or flat with its own parking matters here.
